Jet Li pretends to be a dog, but he doesn't fight like a dog. I was hoping for some dog style growling and fighting and gnashing of teeth, but instead the fighting is the usual martial arts. The foster family he ends up with is Morgan Freeman and a high school girl with bracers. She adores him and it's a bit weird as I as expecting an action movie, not soppy character relationship involving ice cream and pianos.
The thugs/fighters in the movie dress up like punks and wield a variety of weapons. The UK crime boss is a bit of tosser too, the guys in Layer Cake are heaps cooler. :D

The trailer effectively sums up the whole movie -- a nasty bad guy (Bart) acquires a kid (Danny), and trains him so that he can be used to beat up whoever that's slow with their repayments. Somehow, Danny has excellent martial arts skill, but doesn't speak in complete sentences. How did he learn to fight like that, but not know how to hold a conversation??
In "Unleashed" it's best not to ask any questions. Or think. The movie is riddled with cliches, bad lines, stupid situations, and artificial setting.
Fans of action/martial arts films might be entertained for a little bit. That is, if they don't mind sitting through the cheesy scenes between Danny and Victoria. Maybe they're even used to bad dialogue. There's even some scenes with a fighting ring with people with spiky hair and clothes trying to appear tough to boot. However, other people will need a little more to help with their willing suspension of disbelief.
