I don't like Kiss or anything that resembles glam rock, but this movie is good watching if you like your live music. This follows a tour of Spinal Tap who tour America though their popularity is waning. We get to see the humorous side of music, with silly lyrics, props, costumes, groupies, band fights, Japan, drugs, experimental covers, and a useless manager.
This movie was made in the 80s, so some of the jokes I can tell have lost its impact in this day and age, but if you liked this, also check out 24 Hour Party People. At least that has some resemblance to real life.
3 out of 5 stars.

"This is Spinal Tap" is a somewhat humorous mockumentary featuring absurdly tight pants, crude lyrics, a manipulative girlfriend, rock star attitudes and cameos. The actors were probably what made this film a success, as the characters portrayed in it are so convincing that those who do not know better would mistakenly believe this to be a real documentary! The same actors (Guest, McKean, Shearer) have since starred in further mockumentaries such as "A Mighty Wind" and "Best In Show".
