"Solomon Kane" is a fun, dark, swashbuckling, evil-becomes-good-vs-evil mini-epic fantasy — probably one of the rare good ones of this genre.

At the beginning of the film, Solomon Kane is a bloodthirsty mercenary, ruthlessly and mercilessly slaying those in his path, until he’s cursed to die if he kills one more person — he then becomes a David Carradine-esque monk, avoiding violence at all costs.

I had no expectations of this movie, so was pleasantly surprised.
