German movie, set into the early 80s where the new wave music scene is at its peak. Light hearted movie about a concert promoter who manages to get DAF to play with his unknown band. Some funny scenes, and cool music.

3.5 out of 5 stars if you like this type of music.

Set in Germany in the early 80's, "Play It Loud!" is a story about a young man, Harry, who is a bank clerk by day and a band manager by night. After a live DAF concert, Harry is determined to bring the German New Wave music scene to his sleepy town and chaperone his band "Apollo Schwabing" to success, and he is prepared to steal, lie and rob to fulfil his dreams.

"Play It Loud!" is a thoroughly enjoyable, humorous coming-of-age movie and would be enjoyed most by those who love 80s New Wave music.
