This continues on from volume 1, so more violence and killing. They remind you again why she's on a rampage. This one has even more references and scenes to old movies, and that is fairly entertaining. I liked the master with his noisy white beard, quite funny. Other good scenes are the buried alive in a coffin, and eyeballs, and poisoness snake bite scenes. The dialogue is the typical Tarantino stuff, and is entertain to sit through. For the final confrontation I would've like more action and less talking, but its still a good ending.
3.5 out of 5 stars.

Volume II -- a clever marketing ploy or a filmic device?
The second instalment of Kill Bill had a different pace and style to the first, as it contained more dialogue, more character interaction and development, and plot. The first had more references to B-grade movies and Japanese pop culture, while the second was more philosophical, the style reflected the old westerns, with an ancient Chinese Kung Fu master to boot. It's the boiled rice accompanying the honey-glazed fried chicken dished up in the previous volume.
Kill Bill feels more complete, and more satisfying with the second volume. Now I've just gotta wait until they release both volumes in a collector's edition DVD box set ... *sigh*.
