Violent movie about how the bride wakes up after 4 years in a coma and gets her revenge. If there is perceived justified reason behind the violence then it certainly feels more acceptable and you can enjoy the violence without that guilty feeling. Of course that only matters if you feel guilty indulging in viewing violence in the first place.
The most violient part is the first kill in the movie. After that, the violence in this movie is more action / martial arts and feels less personal.
Good fight scenes, and there is a nice anime style sequence in between. I liked the Charlie Brown joke, and the last huge fight scene was fun to watch.
3.5 out of 5 stars.

Kill Bill is a movie made by a film buff, for film buffs. Fans of classic martial arts, spaghetti westerns, anime, B-grade movies, etc. will appreciate the stylish manner in which Tarantino had paid homage / tribute / re-used / referenced those "good ol'" movies. Although I thought I was getting tired of Tarantino (who influenced and was worshipped by too many copycats / wannabes in my film classes at uni), Kill Bill reminded me that I, too, cannot help but admire and appreciate his work.
Plot wise, the story is simple -- The Bride goes on a killing rampage, seeking revenge on those who had killed her unborn child, and put her in a coma for four years. Winning over her opponents, simply because her willpower and determination were greater, The Bride hacks and slashes her way through countless enemies (after willing herself to walk again) to reach Bill.
Although I don't think this to be Tarantino's best movie, I couldn't help but enjoy myself. Tarantino's skill at pulling the right strings with an enjoyable soundtrack, well shot scenes, and interesting characters is indisputable. However, I think if I did not have a liking for the genre in the first place, it might not have made that much of an impact on me.
