I liked this movie. Nothing special about the plot, you can probably guess most of it. Its set in a psychiatric hospital, in a small town, where its perpetually raining and always night. This adds to supernatual thrillerness of it. Some plot twists, and everything works out nice in the end.
3 out of 5 stars.

It was a dark and story night ...
"Gothika" is an average no-brainer psycho-thriller that toys with your fears by utilising every cheap scare tactic ever devised -- violent flashback scenes, harmless things that appear suddenly, loud sounds following moments of silence, etc. In addition to that, Halle Berry's character Dr. Miranda Grey has to shower with a roomful of psychiatric patients, is at the mercy of big burly nurses, and gets visited by an unwelcome, and invisible stranger.
"Gothika" is entertaining enough to keep my attention for the duration, but don't make the mistake of analysing or thinking about it too much afterwards.
