Cool special effects, you shouldn't go this movie expecting anything more. It's best to see Predator and all the Alien movies first, because this has full monster costumes, and would spoil the other movies for you.

The jokes are exceptionally lame. I'd like the movie more if they had none or normal dialogue. After talking crap for 15 minutes, the team eventually goes into an underground pyramid then starts getting killed by monsters. The walls and chambers will resize and every 10 minutes, so they can be separated for individual death scenes.

I'd love an alternate ending where all the humans die.

3 out of 5 stars.

Being a fan of the Alien series, I knew better than to expect much of this film, therefore, I wasn't too annoyed or disappointed. Like all the other monster mash movies, the monsters get way too much screen presence, and we end up fearing them less.

The puny humans were stereotypical and annoying, and we do not feel sorry for their deaths, nor their pain. Seems like the gore (and intelligence, and wit) was toned down for this film, perhaps to market for a wider audience.

Anderson employs the usual techniques for creating frights: separating the party so that they can be more easily killed; having a character walk backwards into their doom, etc.

In all, a mind-numbing, eyeball-rolling, groan inviting, slasher flick.
